Founded in 1858, by their peak they were making 216 million pens a year. Unfortunately, as the market changed, Esterbrook went out of business in 1971. This modern day version - the JR (J Reborn) - has all the appeal of its predecessor. Uses standard international cartridges so you'll always have plenty of ink choices. The barrel end is engraved with the Esterbrook Eternity symbol, as is the rhodium-plated German JoWo nib, which offers a range of sizes.As Esterbrook puts it, the JR is 'small but mighty'. Supplied in a nice cloth gift box, with a polishing cloth, ink cartridge, and converter. It's stylishly compact, with the Carmine Red finish nicely set off by the palladium trim.
